NOC/CGA-SLE president inspects OlympAfrica center in Kalangba, Karene district, intensifies mobilization ahead of sea ceremony.
The President of the Sierra Leone National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association (NOC/CGA-SLE), Prince Vandy Sualley, led members of the Secretariat today, Friday, January 23, 2026, on an inspection visit to the OlympAfrica Center in Kalangba, Karene District, in northwestern Sierra Leone. The visit was part of ongoing mobilization efforts ahead of the official handover of the site and the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Friday, February 6, 2026.
On his way to Kalangba, President Sualley made a brief stop in Portloko, where he paid a courtesy call on Alie Badara Tarawally, vice president of the Sierra Leone Football Association and mayor of the Portloko Municipal Council. During the meeting, the President briefed His Honor on the progress made to date and presented plans to engage the community and key stakeholders for the upcoming ceremony, seeking his advice and support for his leadership.
Mayor Tarawally welcomed the visit and commended the president for his courteous and inclusive approach. He affirmed his full support for the OlympAfrica Center project and pledged to help engage stakeholders, traditional authorities, and other dignitaries to ensure the success of the groundbreaking ceremony and strong community support for the initiative.
