Olympafrica centers
International Foundation

Olympafrica is an African sports foundation established in 1993 at the initiative of the IOC (International Olympic Committee). Our mission is to develop community sports centers across the African continent to promote the Olympic ideals among young people. For more than 30 years, this African sports foundation has built 42 active centers in over 30 countries, welcoming nearly 5 million young people each year. In 1996, a headquarters agreement was signed with the Government of Senegal, making Dakar the strategic hub of our continental network.

Since 1993, our African sports foundation has provided 5 million young people with access to high-quality sports facilities.

One day at school, the teacher called me and told me he'd enrolled me in the O!Yes program. I like the center. I like playing basketball. I like playing handball. But my favorite thing is playing soccer. Everyone here is so nice to me.

Now that I know all the things I can do here, I think it's great and I'm really happy to take the bus for 30 minutes. For the O!Yes program, we train every Wednesday and Saturday. I feel safe at the center.

A friend of my daughter's invited her to come to the Olympafrica center, and she's been going there regularly ever since. I really trust the center; they look after the children as if they were their own. This year, my daughter also joined the O!YES program.
