Mr. Moustapha Berraf

A leading figure in institutional management and the international Olympic movement, Moustapha BERRAF has had an exceptional career that combines athletic excellence with strategic leadership. With a solid background in international business and management, he held senior executive positions within major Algerian public institutions (tourism, sports complexes, retail) before serving as a deputy in the National People’s Assembly for ten years. A former international basketball player and multiple Algerian champion, he successfully applied the discipline he honed on the court to senior government administration. His visionary commitment propelled him to the helm of the highest-level bodies, notably as the long-standing president of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee and president of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOC). A man of action and diplomacy, he has distinguished himself particularly in the organization of major sporting events (African Games, Mediterranean Games) as well as in the management of international relations. An active member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) commissions, his ongoing dedication to social development, youth, and education has earned him the world’s most prestigious honors, including the Olympic Order.
