O!YES in Soubré: Emancipating Ivorian Youth through Sport

The Olympafrica Center in Soubré, Côte d’Ivoire, is emerging more than ever as a true driver of local development. Recently, the center came alive with the O!YES (Olympafrica Youth Empowerment through Sports) program, an ambitious initiative designed to transform the lives of young people through sports.

Supported by the International Olympic Committee and the Olympafrica Foundation, the O!YES program has a clear objective: the empowerment and social emancipation of girls and boys aged 10 to 15. It is not just about sports; it is a unique methodology that uses physical activity to teach essential life skills.

The Olympafrica Center in Soubré perfectly embodies the Foundation’s vision. Working in close collaboration with the National Olympic Committee of Côte d’Ivoire, it carries out activities that span the sports, social, and educational sectors.

O!YES Days have become must-attend events eagerly anticipated by the entire community. They bring together volunteers, mentors, and young people around a common goal: building a stronger, more united, and more resilient society.

With O!YES, every sporting activity becomes a life lesson. At Soubré, we don’t just train players; we equip Ivorian youth for their future.

The energy shown by the young people of Soubré proves that when children are given the right tools, they are capable of moving mountains.
